This painting is conceived from my recent cultural immersion and heartfelt
connections with local Costa Rican farmers. This work seeks to ignite dialogue and inspire action towards a more equitable agricultural future in Costa Rica.
‘Harvesting Justice’ stands as a testament to the resilience and dedication of Costa Rican farmers, their livelihoods, and their unwavering commitment to sustainable, community centric agriculture. Through radiant hues and intricate details this work depicts the Costa Rican harvest shielded from the omnipresent grasp of foreign industrial influence. As you might guess the piece has elements of each of the places I visited: pineapples, bananas, coffee, and burning sugar cane.
